Job Description
- Oversee the academic policies, development and implementation teaching and learning activities
- Assists the Vice Chancellor with the management of the core academic functions of the University.
- Participates as a key member of the University’s Senior Management and collaborates with the Executive team to develop the strategy and direction of the University.
- Monitors performance of academic programmes, including developing and/or implementing outcomes assessment systems to meet internal requirements as well as standards of relevant external bodies
- Oversees and work collaboratively with Deans to develop academic programme and curriculum development
- Facilitates community/civic and industry engagement, including development of partnership with business and industry as well as other institutions.
- Leads the development, implementation and monitoring of academic support programmes and services to ensure student success.
- Leads the external government projects like MyRA, SETARA and other periodical assessments of the University.
- Pursues cost efficiencies to enhance student learning, resources and excellence
- Lead all institutional audits, and research and development activities
- Tasks as directed from time to time by the Top Management
Requirements
- Candidate must possess PhD in any field, preferably in Management / Administration.
- At least a 10 years of experience as a professional in teaching, significant research and publication experience and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in senior administrative leadership role (at the level of Dean or above).
- Good command of the English language.
- Excellent presentation skills and effective strategic thinker
- Strong interpersonal, critical problem-solving skills and a team player.
