Job Description

We are seeking a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills for the role of Engineering STEM trainer. The Engineering STEM trainer will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents.

To ensure success as a Engineering STEM trainer, candidates should have a strong quantitative background, demonstrate empathy, and have good written and verbal communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch Engineering STEM trainer will have excellent classroom management abilities and engage students with the subject matter.

Engineering STEM Trainer Responsibilities:

• Developing STEM curriculum.
• Planning daily lessons.
• Adopting a data-driven attitude towards measuring learner progress.
• Developing STEM learning activities and hands-on material for classes.
• Attending to individual student needs.
• Demonstrating an awareness of different student backgrounds and cultures.
• Communicating regularly with parents.
• Providing extra support to students who need it.
• Monitoring student growth to identify strengths and areas for  improvement.
• Using learner data to constantly refine your curriculum.
• Providing regular feedback to students.

Engineering STEM Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or STEM field.
• Knowledge of STEM best practices.
• Min 2 years work experience in engineering, IT or related field.
• Empathy and great interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
• Experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a Engineering STEM trainer will be advantageous.
• Public Speaking skill.
• Good classroom management skills.
• Good teamwork abilities.

MIT Academy Sdn Bhd was founded in 1976 under the name of Cosmopolitan Business Agencies. It started as a rattan manufacturing company which subsequently diversified into corporate training and consultancy in 1989 and HRDF apprenticeship programme in 2007.

The company holds various educational licenses and accreditation by Department of Skill Development (DSD), under the Ministry of Human Resources No. L01956 License, Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) License No. 647236A, City & Guilds (UK), Cambridge Assessment International Education (UK) and Pearson (UK). We have successfully conducted fully funded training programmes under Inbase, Indcert, Generate, Minimum Wages, Outplacement Centre (1MOC), Future Workers Training and Apprenticeship Programme. To date, MIT group has provided training and education to almost 5,000 students and workplace trainees in Malaysia.

Our landmark success was in 2011 when MIT Academy group has collaborated with SeGI College to train 3,000 teachers from Vietnam on various skills training and development of Vietnam National Occupational Skills Standards (VNOSS).

With our strong affiliation with key industry associations, the Ministry of Education had appointed MIT Academy as the 1st Private Technical College in 2012 offering the Malaysian Vocational Diploma programme for our PT3 graduate students for a 4-year engineering diploma course.

From year 2015 - 2017, MIT Academy was appointed by Omron, Bosch Rexroth, Fanuc, SMC, Mazak, Autodesk, Carey Training and America Welding Society as Licensed Training Centre, Licensed Technology Partner and Authorised Training Centre (ATC) to conduct technology courses for corporate trainees.

In 2019, the company has launched MITstem International School which is the 1st STEM school in Malaysia providing a combination of Academic IGCSE and STEM curriculum to gear our students for the 21st century technological challenges.
