Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Plan, lead, manage, facilitate and support the Academic Operations by supervising academic administration inclusive of linkages (e.g. IAP and IEE), managing curriculum development and review, facilitating performance management, facilitating audit compliance, and managing adjunct lectureships and part-time lecturers to ensure efficient and effective compliance to accreditation standards in support of the delivery of sustainable and superior academic programmes.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Recognised Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field
  • More than 6 years of experience in relevant field
  • Professional qualification and advanced degree would be an added advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical abilities

UTP has improved its standing in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017.  Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering have maintained their position as Top 150 and Top 200 respectively.   Meanwhile, Electrical Engineering has improved its rank to be in the Top 200 and Computer Sciences & Information Systems has managed to place itself in the Top 300.

Apart from the QS rankings, UTP has made the list in The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2016-2017 for the first time and is ranked in the 601-800 band.

UTP has also made its debut in the prestigious THE BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2017, coming in at 91st.  This placed UTP among the top 100 best research-led universities in the developing world.

In addition, UTP has made its maiden entrance into the THE Asia University Rankings 2017 and is ranked between 141 – 150.  It has also debuted in the THE Young University Rankings 2017 and is ranked between 151 – 200.  It is also ranked at 131-140 in the newly introduced THE Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2017.

The university conducts extensive research activities in collaboration with PETRONAS and other institutions and industries, locally and abroad, on six research focus and niche areas.  They are sustainable living, transport infrastructure, health analytics, hydrocarbon recovery, contaminant management and autonomous system.
