Job Description
The School of Hospitality and Service Management at Sunway University invites outstanding applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer in Hospitality and Tourism Management. The Senior Lecturer will support the Dean in teaching, research and other academic / administrative duties as assigned by the Dean.
The School currently offers six undergraduate programmes and a postgraduate programme; namely, the Diploma in Culinary Arts, Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Events Management, BSc (Hons) in Culinary Management, BSc (Hons) in International Hospitality Management, BSc (Hons) in Conventions and Events Management and Master in International Hospitality Management. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to make contributions toward the advancement of his / her discipline / subject evidenced by research and development (R&D) activities and to mentor less senior staff in research, teaching and learning related activities.
The position(s) requires candidates to possess at least a Doctoral degree or equivalent and should possess significant recognized experience in the field of hospitality and / or tourism. There is a requirement for academic and professional excellence evidenced by outstanding contributions to teaching, research and management within the areas of hospitality and / or tourism. In determining professional experience relative to qualifications, considerations are given to the extent and quality of previous performances and achievements in all aspects of scholarship. There should also be evidence of having to take on leadership roles, managing people in academic and non-academic areas in his / her discipline and where relevant, other technical accomplishments.
